The Xoloescuincle is a canine endemic to the American continent, mainly Mexico. According to the different fossils found, it is believed that its existence dates back approximately 1,300 years. This particular breed of dog has been venerated since pre-Hispanic times, since it was the belief at that time that these beautiful animals were guardians of the spirits, who guided the souls of the deceased along the long and difficult path through Mictlán, the city of the dead.
