Bees: Golden Inspiration and the Soul of My Artisanal Collection

For me, bees have inspired me since I started making jewelry more than 34 years ago. They are one of the most important power animals we can find, and despite their small size, they have a symbolic meaning since they have always been related to constant work and perseverance.
It was that, their importance and the magical shape of their honeycombs that inspired me to create the jewelry that speaks of them. It is an insect that spends all day flying from flower to flower to collect pollen and take it to the hive, where it will be converted into honey.
This is how I found a way to represent honey in the bright golden color of amber, and through finely hand-polished golden drops I found the ideal material to accompany my collection.
It is vital for me to convey that bees are highly organized, communicative, social animals with assigned roles to complete activities so that the hive runs like clockwork. I am passionate about the complexity of their societies and their ability to produce wax structures that give rise to the beautiful shape of the honeycomb.
They are the most widespread pollinator worldwide and it is this work that makes them very important and vital for life. The pollination process that they carry out guarantees the harvests, the preservation of the species and maintains the delicate balance that allows us to obtain fruits, vegetables, flowers and in general guarantee the pollination of 84% of the commercial crops that produce the food we consume.
Its pollination not only increases yield but also improves the quality of the fruit and vegetables produced.
All of this is what inspired me to create a collection where I talk and share about them. Through the lost wax process, which is artisanal and extremely delicate, we create each of the pieces that speaks, honors and shares the message of this extraordinary insect, which is accompanied by amber from Chiapas and Mexican silver.
